Shootaround with Cory Brenneman

UCLA Women's Volleyball vs USCShootaround with Cory Brenneman

The Cincinnati Bearcats annihilated a completely overmatched Mississippi Valley State squad, led by Sean Kilpatrick’s 20 and 8. The Bearcats have impressed thus far but we’ll know more over Thanksgiving weekend when they face some teams with a pulse in Las Vegas…

Kansas lost a hard-fought battle against Michigan State, a game more or less serving as Keith Appling’s breakout party, posting a 19/2/3/3 line including an incredible lay-up to give the Spartans a lead…

Kentucky’s primed for a down year as their freshmen aren’t on par with last year’s plus this is the worst point guard situation a John Calipari-coached team has had in years, although Alex Poythress is a complete stud…

And finally, everyone brace for another embarrassing year out west for the Pac-12. Tuesday night saw Washington fall at home to Albany and UCLA, one of the league’s supposed contenders, narrowly squeak out a one-point overtime victory over UC-Irvine. For my money the A-10 is a better conference, although they’ve struggled in the early going as well.
